Lake Eyasi – Hadzabe tribe


The Bushman (also known as the Hadzabe tribe) still maintain their traditional hunter-gatherer way of life. To visit the village will be led by a local guide who will describe their lifestyle. Most important the Bushman will make fire from sticks and show you their belongings. Take you on stimulated hunt in the area with their bows and arrows, and visitors, can try a little target practice. The visitors concludes with traditional singing and dancing . In the rainy season , they live in the caves, and in the dry season, they live in trees and bushes shaded with hay. Homes are marked by upright sticks in a semi-circle. Beds and floor mats are hides from Kudu and Impala. The men hunt wild animals and birds with bows and arrows. There are different arrows for different types of animals. Poisoned arrows for large animals. Also eat honey, tubers, and fruits. Dry season dig the dry river bed to find water. The Bushmen are monogamous. The dowry for them is two (2) massive baboons and many litters of honey. Lake Eyasi in near Ngorongoro Conservation Area
