Lemosho is a slightly longer route, one of the preferred routes due to its low traffic, beautiful scenery, and high summit success rate. It begins with a long drive from Moshi to Londorosi gate.
From thereafter register formalities drive to Lemosho glades, where start to walk through the forest to the Big tree campsite. Lemosho route is preferable for better acclimatization and summit success.
On our 7 Days Lemosho Route Climb, You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport to your Hotel in Moshi town, you will meet with a guide to brief you about the upcoming Mt Kilimanjaro Climbing hike.
ROUTE ITINERARY
DAY 1 Moshi (950m/3116ft) to Londorosi gate to (2250m/7425 ft.) to Lemosho glade (2100m/ 6,889ft) to Big tree camp (2650m/8,694ft)
On the first day of our 7 Days Lemosho Route Climb:
You will be picked up at the hotel, a long drive to Londorosi gate for registration, and Rangers park to check the luggage after they doing so repack our vehicle drive to Lemosho glades to start the walk.
Lemosho Glades (2100m/6,889ft) to big tree camp (2650m/8694ft) to 7km, 4 hours. Pass through rain forest but short day hike to Big tree campsite still in the forest as well overnight there with monkey spot

DAY 2 Big tree camp(2650m/8,694ft) to Shira 2 Camp(3850m/12705ft) 17km 9-10hs
Today’s long trek starts on a small trail that continues through the trees and gradually ascends to reach the Shira plateau. Enjoy the view of the mountain and plains below. The path continues to cross the Shira ridge and you will stop for lunch at the Shira 1 camp from there are often views of Kibo peak floating on the clouds as we head towards our destination which is Shira 2. We gain a reasonable amount of altitude as we head towards Shira 1 and parts of the route are fairly steep. As you proceed towards Shira 2 you will get the chance to view the Northern Ice field from the western side of the mountain with some unusual views of Kibo. Our steady climb across the moorland of the Shira Plateau will help with acclimatization and we enjoy great panoramic views.

DAY 3 Shira 2 camp (3850m/12705ft) to barranco camp (3900m/12870ft) 10 km, 6-7 hours
From Shira 2 we continue to the east up a ridge with far-reaching panoramic view, walking into the alpine desert to lava tower at (4600m) that is picnic site stop there for lunch and let the body adjust with high elevation as acclimatization most of the passengers start feeling the mountain
In afternoon steep descent to the Barranco campsite located on the base of Great Barranco wall and extensive views of the plains below

DAY 4 Barranco camp(3900m/12870ft) to Karanga camp(3,995m/13106ft); 4h-5h, 6km
Climbing to Karanga camp through great Barranco wall a.k.a breakfast wall. start gradual few minutes start climbing the wall at 19-20 degree of gradient take 1h-1.5h to cross the wall to the 4200m enjoy an incredible view of the Kibo and lower slope of Mount Kilimanjaro sea cloud-like at lower depend on the weather of that day Descend to Karanga campsite through the alpine desert and Karanga valley to Karanga camp (3995m)

DAY 5 Karanga camp(3,995m/13106ft) to Barafu camp(4,673m/15,331): 3h-4h 4km
Short climbing to base camp (Barafu camp) through alpine desert.
Enough rest for the last push. Barafu camp at(4673m) is on a narrow ridge with no wind block and a remarkable view of Kibo and Mawenzi peak . The Barafu camp is colder than before because of wind and as go higher as colder after 200m up loss one degree of centigrade.

DAY 6 Barafu Camp(4673m/15331ft) to Uhuru Peak(5895m/19341ft) to Mweka Camp(3100m/10170ft)
Night hike to the peak (summit) passes Stella point through the alpine desert to the arctic zone. Barafu Camp to the summit is 6h-8h in 5km, this time is challenging day of the entire trip, need strong confidence .from base camp to Stella point at 5756m,18886ft)is 6h-7h in 4km, time for the incredible view of the sunrise temperature is -5c-12c depending on weather .zigzag path to avoid steepness with Los screen. Stella points to the summit (Uhuru peak)(5895m,19300ft)0.9km 1h-1h30m gradual ascent along the bare path or snow-covered path depending on the weather. Enjoy a remarkable view of Rebmann glacier, Heim Glacier and southern ice field on the left side and crater and northern ice field and ash pit long way on right side
Descent from the summit to base camp takes 3h-4h, where the group going to have short rest (for the 7 Days Lemosho Route Climb is about to go to an end) and pack up. Barafu Camp to Mweka camp at 3100m is 4h in 7.5 km, the path down pass through alpine desert, moorland and heathland.
Meal: breakfast /lunch Dinner.
DAY 7 Mweka Camp(3100m/10170ft) to Moshi(950m/3113ft)
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1640m) 3h-4h 10 km descending through the forest (rain forest), normally is west and slip so take care, From Mweka gate to the hotel with private vehicle.
