VISAS INFORMATION:

All travelers who are not east Africa residents are required to obtain a visa for Tanzania .Happily the process is a simple formality.

If you decide to fly to Nairobi rather than direct to JRO you will need a shuttle bus from Nairobi to Moshi or Arusha passing through Kenya in this way you will require a Kenyan tourist visa which can be purchased at the AirPort when you land. A tourist visa for traveling to Kenya from Tanzania if you decide to fly out from Nairobi can be purchased at the Namanga border which you are required to crossway

Direct fly to Tanzania however although it is possible to purchase visa, on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport the Tanzania High commission advises visitors to apply for this in advance as they reserve the right to deny you a visa on arrival

VISA COSTS:

-Travelers are advised to apply in person by visiting the Tanzania Embassy with their passport and payment in cash

British passport USD 50 in cash

American passport USD 100 in cash

-Those of other nationalities are advised to have USD 100 in cash ready through in most cases the costs will be only USD 50

Visa duration is three months of the date of travel

CLIMATE:

There are two types of season in Tanzania – rainy or dry, long rains occur on April – June. Some of the best wild life viewing is done just after the end of the rainy season, at the beginning of July as food is plentiful and the landscape is transformed from dry and dusty to luscious and green
Temperature very across the country depending on your elevation (down -15.c) on top of Kilimanjaro but the normal temperature range 16 – 32℃/60-90℉ so it is always fairly mild.

CURRENCY:

The currency used throughout the country is local currency (tsh) The exchange rate normally is 2000 TSH for the 1 USD. Better having cash ,some cities shop not accept cards. But USD, pounds and the Euro they do. We recommended bringing some USD with you as most tourist operations (park fees, visa etc.) are done in USD. The notes you bring with you not more than 7 years ago as many notes were forged before this time and won’t be accepted here.

LANGUAGE:

In Tanzania Language spoken everywhere is Swahili and English is 2nd – 3rd language

TREKKING CONDITION:

Each of our guides is more than 5 years of experience on both safari and mountain and they are well hospitality. Approximately hike 10km each day, some a shorter depending on route. In order to adjust with elevation, slow pace is recommended.

Be prepared for coldest weather while you visit a warm country, it extremely cold up there sleeping bag and liner 4 season, also sleeping bag can be rented for 30 USD per trip. If you have plan to rent let us know as we can do it for you in advance. Your bag porter to carry should be maximum 15kgs, day pack 5 kg.

TIPPING:

Number of porters depending on luggage and equipment’s groups has approximately 3-4 porters per passenger-You can use the chart as guidelines:

      1. Guide (head guide): 20 – 25 USD per day
      2. Assistant Guide: 15 – 20 USD per day
      3. Cook: 15 – 20 USD per day
      4. Porter: 9 -10 USD per day

CARRYING LUGGAGE:

Porters carry most of your luggage, camp equipment, food. You carry a small day park that contains your drinking water, rain gear, camera, lunch, and valuable staff. You should bring a supply of energy bars and Gel energy with you, it is very extremely useful for the summit day.

FIRST AID KITS:

Sunny Summit and Cultural Tourisms guides carry first aid kit that contains bandages, let say for the external use, pulse ox meter and emergency oxygen. Sunny Summit and Cultural Tourisms guides do not carry prescription medicines so you will have to bring your own.
